
Alondra Macias
Alondra Macias is a Pomona College undergraduate majoring in Neuroscience. She is interested in uncovering the molecular and cellular mechanism underlying neurological diseases, advancing cellular approaches with particular focus on neurodegeneration and glioblastoma. Her current interests include how tumor microenvironment interactions and gene regulation drive GBM progression as well as advancing immunological strategies to improve therapeutic efficacy. Through the strong mentorship in the Young Lab, Alondra aims to pursue medical school and is especially passionate about bringing research and patient care to advance more equitable, effective treatments in neurology and oncology. Outside of the lab, she enjoys journaling, reading, and discovering new places with friends.
